As an independent opticians in Botley, Oxford, we've invested in imaging technology more commonly associated with hospital eye departments. Our OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) captures a detailed, layer-by-layer cross section of the retina, allowing us to detect early signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. Often years before you'd notice any change yourself. Alongside OCT, we use Optomap ultra widefield retinal imaging, capturing up to 200° of the retina in a single scan, giving us a far wider view than a standard photograph allows. Together, these technologies mean every eye examination at our Oxford practice looks well beyond your prescription, to the long term health of your eyes.
